Nes and Daktari....
Last week we had an interesting visit from our nephews from meru. They are a bunch and a half. Twin boys, nes and daktari and a sister, the beauty. In the evening there is always time set aside for prayers. so that time came, cucu and babu were leading the songs..in our language 'almighty' translates to big which is the direct translation of one of the twins names...nes. So you can imagine how excited the brother was...aaaahhh nes they are singing about you! The twins later decided that there should be a song for every one... the grandparents were in quite a pickle. Time for the rosary came, and after being reminded the locations of 'The Father, Son and Holy spirit' ( which was a sight....!) they went on to recite hail Mary in swahili, repeating after the cucu...nes declared that "Yesu mzao wa tumbo yako yote! amebarikiwa. It was all we could do to avoid bursting into laughter, everyone replied as calmly as we possibly could. Daktari later added " amebarikiwa sana"...aha. Just when we thought the drama had ceased, Cadi who never dissappoints, recited his hail Mary in latin! yes latin. oh how i wish i had a camera....the look on our faces! ...Precious moments.
